It was actually extremely well organized. The Joes are individually bagged with the file cards & weapons and the Transformers came with this :

I was fortunate enough to come across an OO collection with mostly 90's stuff. Owner was a Valiant fan and said he actually won a contest and got to go up to Valiants headquarters and meet Jim Shooter. This collection is about 2000 books and you can tell that there a lot of speculating going on. Multiple copies of Uncanny X-Men 282, X-Men 1 and others.  Been a while since I purchased this many books and its been a task to sort through them, but definitely fun.

As goofy as it is, my favorite part is when collections have special touches like this.  Even more so when it was a young kid that was super organized.  Just rare.  I'll take a pic of a childhood collection I bought years ago with some notes the kid had on some pieces.  I decided to leave them because it added a personnel touch.

Another piece I bought came with the original receipt from 1986 (boxed Ultra Magnus).  To most, it's trash.  But it's a fun addition to the toy.

I found it on Letgo. The harbinger's are going to be graded first. Unfortunately one of them doesn't have the coupon.

How are the spines on them?  Well-known deficiency in Harby 1, out of the 10 copies I've owned I've only had one that was worth grading.  And that's now that CGC has relaxed their stance on grading, 10-15 years ago a 9.8 was impossible.

Also congrats on the find!  To see the VEI gold means this is a pure collector of that product line....

Another day, another batch of weird stuff - auction and garage sale.

120 *ahem* 'gentlemens' magazines - all fine to sell on ebay  (who am I to Judge!)

WW2 Newspaper

Games

Assorted magazines and comics

Amazing 1923 Australian Rules Premiership team photo - I love it!

Couple of awesome GA Aussie comics

Some WW2 stuff that I need to check are genuine, but appear to be a stack of labels in English and Paua New Guinean that were given to Japanese Prisoners by British Troops so that the locals would not kill them (the war in PNG with Aus v Japan was horrifically brutal)

Pile of 1966 Topps Foldees

Plus this.

And I'd like some advice here

A film canister with film in great condition marked "SVE Producers Of Visual Aids"

"Willie Mouse 'The Cat and The Bell' Walter Lantz"

Its from 1938

Anyone got any info, I'd be thrilled!

Here is the Japanese /PNG stuff (just a sample) - the paper feels waxy on the instruction leaflet (1 + 2) and aged (3 +4)

Either way, I would love to know more about these (obviously I'm looking as well...)

LCS had another one of their $1 blowout sales this weekend, which are always fun. Nothing to retire on, but I picked up a couple hundred books, mostly copper age Bats, Swamp Things, Hellblazers and Simonson Thors to fill in holes in my collection. I always enjoy these sales because there's a little bit of everything I like. Here are some of the more interesting cheap highlights, all for a buck each:

- run of 10+ sealed subscription copies of Spectacular Spider-Man (not something you see every day)

-  a few first appearances (first War Machine, WildCATS, Black Beetle, and arguably first Spawn)

- a couple of Image Newsstands in nice shape

- a couple of DCU variants

- a sharp Dave Stevens cover

- that dumb Stan Lee Marvel Age book that is selling for stupid money these days

- some standard covers, foil cover, and classic copper cover Wolvie goodness

- a strange assortment of signed covers, including some Ultraverse stuff complete with COA's. Not sure who'd want these, but for a buck I figured why not. Throw 'em up on the bay, see who bites

- nice little run of later Marvel Universe Handbook master editions, which I don't run into often in the dollar bins

- 90's comic packs, some with fleer trading cards. Nothing sez the 90's like Age of Apocalypse and foil stamped trading cards!

My timing was good, as when I returned to the shop in the evening for another go round, the toy buyer was putting out a small collection of BTAS figures he'd just picked up. I got almost all of these for $6-$8 each, which is nice, but the Combat Belt Batman was an absolute steal at $20! He regularly sells for $75-$100, and while I'm still researching, this one is the second release (had more characters on the back of the card, as opposed to the small assortment of the first wave) and the only ones I can find that have sold with this particular back have been closer to the $150-$200 range. May be a coincidence, but regardless, I'm pleased. This one is for the permanent collection anyway, as I recently decided to try to finish the run.

The best part of all of this was that I won a $100 Mastercard gift card in a raffle at my wife's employers' Xmas party the night before, so most of this stuff was free to me. So all in all, a fun weekend!
