Hello, the new Avengers Station in Vegas is the only store that is not under Disney contract and they have "new" comics that are certified hand stamp signature of Stan Lee using his Solvent DNA Ink.  They have a Thor comic and a Rise of the Blank Panther Variant edition one comic as well. Has anyone heard of this before? The comic retail guy who said he is a comic grader mentioned that last year Stan Lee signed all these himself and only a limited amount.  The picture is included. Thanks any info will help.

I'm convinced the people that work here and own it are complete scammers.

I was under the impression this was an Authentic MARVEL Retail store.

I asked about this comic book and inquired about the 75th Anniversary Shield too.

They said if I bought the $200 comic they would take $200 off the shield. I asked them why their shield was so much more then Walmarts or Toys R Us and they told me theirs was more authentic. I had a pretty good week on the black jack tables and already bought gifts for the family so I was like what the hell let's do it since this comic and shield are so limited

The "manager" offered to mail me the Shield so I didn't have to fly home with it which was nice bc he said I would get a brand new box. The day after I was home the box arrived, Hasbro on it shipped to Wal-Mart and then to Treasure Island then to me. I called and nobody answered, I messed them on FB and they just replied today saying their shields should not be from Walmart bit their own Marvel warehouse. So either someone who worked their did a switcharoo or these guys are frauds.

I then was concerned about the comics that I was told was signed by Stan Lee in his DNA ink....linlmited to 500 or 1000 cannot remember what they said. Well I read the details on the card and it says "Stamped Stan Lee Signature"... I was concerned something wasn't adding up bc the comic stores online that were doing pre-orders had the autographed gold elite versions for $700-1200.

I'm glad you posted this, I don't buy comics but am a fan of Marvel....I feel completely robbed. If you haven't been to this place it looks very impressive and the location screams it is legit.

Any experts able to chime in on what the actual flock deal I spend all my winnings on ?

This makes me super annoyed. Shaon, We got the same story when we were there from CES. We were told there was only 4 comics left(the three we bought and the one in the case). We also bought the shield! Obviously they are complete liars, since we bought our over a week before your receipt is dated. Anyone reading this, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE SCAMMERS.

Stan Lee Solvent DNA sounds less cool than the KISS blood ink in the Marvel Super Special Book - My OO copy although I wasn't much of a KISS fan in teen-age years, I snatched this off the stands.  Always thought I might catch something if I actually touched the printed ink lol  At least since I have had it slabbed, all is safely plasticized.

I just bought the "Rise of the Black Panther" from here as well. I can't find anything online about this, and even the website certifying the signature is difficult to track down.

It also appears as though the price fluctuates as I was charged $250. I'm pretty disappointed in myself, I should have known better.

My question is what is "a handstamp signature"?  Is it literally a stamp of Stan's sig such that all signatures look the same and that Stan didn't physically hand sign each one but merely witnessed them stamp each book?

If you want to get to the bottom of this, I'm sure Excelsior Collectibles could tell you since they're Stan's official handlers.

Thank you for your help ExNihilo, I've contacted Excelsior and will update the thread if I receive a response.

I can't even find any information regarding the "Rise of the Black Panther Marvel 1 Variant edition" so this is looking less and less legitimate.

Excelsior does not have anything to do with this nor would they know anything.

The Rise of the Black Panther Variant that is for sale at the Avengers Station is a variant cover that Desert Wind Celestial Comics was responsible for having printed through Marvel. This was a co-op book with another company located in Las Vegas. The cover was drawn by legendary inker, Joe Sinnott, who was the inker on the very first Black Panther appearance in Fantastic Four #52.

Copies of this variant have been made available through Avengers Station located in Las Vegas. Avengers Station is working with Stan Lee’s Hands of Respect and is offering a special copy of this cover. The details of the Stan Lee Solvent DNA Ink will be made available online shortly.

The purpose of this announcement is to provide information on the Black Panther Variant being sold at Avenger Station. Raw copies of this book are available for purchase at Celestial Comics located in Las Vegas, Nv.
