Puppeteer Lee is my favorite current cover artist, and I won this in a no-reserve auction for what I believe was a ridiculous steal. This is my first SS book, and it's got a beautiful hand-painted remarque: And then to top it off, I saw this on his Instagram - he said there were only 16 painted remarques, and in the pic he shared, that's this book in the upper right. The TOS 58 was off the Comiclink exchange which I negotiated for under fair market value and the Hulk 2 I bought off a collector on FB - first time I did that and it went very well - probably going to send the Hulk one out to Joey to get pressed and regraded as it has some non color breaking creases on the front and back covers. When these were first sold on the website it looks like they were $275 - and there's another Puppeteer Lee SS with a remarque of Wonder Woman currently for sale on eBay that a seller has listed for a BIN of $399. It was a mid-day ending auction, and it looks they they mostly sell other collectibles (they only have one other comic for sale currently out of more than 700 items) so I feel like I just lucked out - right place, right time, right circumstance. But there were 38 total bids, so maybe I'm just overestimating the value/desire for this? Either way, I absolutely love it! I’ve been loaded down with work & around the house projects that I’ve let my comic attention lapse. I hope everyone is doing well! On to the good stuff! One of the local LCS, Uncanny Comics & Games, had a Non-Stop Spider-Man raffle to win a Premier Variant & I won! I never win anything, so this was a really cool experience. Owners are really great guys & they set me up with not just the Premier Variant, but a B&W variant, and short box. Very cool; but between the amazing wife & winning a comic, I’ve probably used up my lifetime quota of luck. (She reads these, hence the butt kissing. Hi hon! 😘) I also picked up some Gleason variants, which are fast becoming popular enough that they may as well be the “new Bitcoin.” 🤣 They’re different, so I like them. I think I’ll slab the Marvel set once the 2nd Printing 1:50, Venom, & Carnage versions come in, then stick them in an art frame for a wall hanger. I really like these Black/White/Red variant covers! I hope this is a thing, because I would love to display them as a set, or have them remarked/colored at conventions. Finally, an X-Men 173 that I bought on a whim.
