Leading the auction with fantastic results was a Fantastic Four #5 graded CGC 9.4, which realized $130,000. Released in 1962 by Marvel Comics, this book features the first appearance of Victor von Doom — a brilliant but egotistical scientist whose experiments with time travel and sorcery lead to his transformation into the armored antagonist known as Doctor Doom. Driven by a blend of personal vendetta and a lust for power, Doom's debut sets the stage for his longstanding rivalry with the Fantastic Four, establishing him as one of Marvel's most complex and enduring villains. Doctor Doom has also made notable appearances in films, with portrayals by Julian McMahon in the 2005 and 2007 "Fantastic Four" movies and by Toby Kebbell in the 2015 reboot. With another Fantastic Four reboot coming in 2025, fans are speculating about the appearance of an all-new Doctor Doom on the big screen.

Assembled next to it was an Avengers #1 graded CGC 9.4, which realized $120,199. With a cover dated September 1963, Avengers #1 marks the first team appearance of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes: Iron Man, Thor, Ant-Man and Hulk — together they are The Avengers! Captain America later joined the team in issue #4. In this issue, the Avengers assemble for the very first time to confront the menace of Loki, Thor's evil half-brother. The team forms almost by accident when Loki's scheming leads to a confrontation that none of the heroes could handle alone. This issue set the foundation for countless epic storylines and established the Avengers as Earth's Mightiest Heroes, a title they have upheld in the Marvel Universe ever since.
