Seven Silver Age Marvel Books Certified by CGC Sell for Six Figures

Posted on 8/31/2022

In a recent ComicLink auction, high-grade comics certified by CGC sold at or above $100,000.

Some of the Fantastic Four’s earliest issues, graded by Certified Guaranty Company® (CGC®), have performed amazingly well in recent sales. The latest results come from ComicLink, which sold three early issues, each in the six figures, during its auction in late August 2022.

The highest bid went to a Fantastic Four #5 graded CGC 9.4, which realized $210,000. Released in 1962 by Marvel Comics, this book features the first appearance of the villain Doctor Doom. Sharing this grade with only 12 other recorded examples in the CGC Census, it is surpassed by a mere three examples graded CGC 9.6. This is the first CGC 9.4 Fantastic Four #5 sold on ComicLink in three years.
