CGC-graded Amazing Spider-Man #100 Impresses in Pedigree Auction

Posted on 9/23/2022

The sale featured hundreds of other CGC-certified books from the Modern, Bronze and Copper Ages.

Many fan-favorite Modern, Bronze and Copper Age comics graded by Certified Guaranty Company® (CGC®) were featured in the September High Grade Modern Auction presented by Pedigree Auctions. The auction concluded September 14, 2022.

A top highlight in the auction was a beautiful copy of Amazing Spider-Man #100 graded CGC 9.8 that realized $4,000. Released by Marvel Comics in 1971, this anniversary issue features an iconic cover by artists John Romita Sr. and Frank Giacoia. In this issue, Peter Parker creates a serum to remove his spider powers, and he falls into a deep sleep after drinking it. In his dreams, he sees all the pivotal people and moments in his life, eventually taking him to George Stacy, who convinces him to continue being Spider-Man. When he wakes up, he discovers the serum has caused him to grow four additional arms like a spider.
