What Is a CGC Signature Series Authorized Facilitator?

Posted on 5/30/2023

CGC Signature Series facilitators help make the signing magic happen.

Getting comics and other pop culture collectibles signed by artists, writers, creators and celebrities is a major part of the collecting hobby. Since 2002, CGC Signature Series has enabled collectors to have their comic books, magazines, posters and prints signed by artists and creators in the presence of a CGC Signature Series Witness. The authenticity of the signature is then 100% certain, making the collectible eligible for the prestigious CGC Signature Series yellow label.

CGC Signature Series Authorized Facilitators help collectors submit comics and other collectibles for witnessed signatures, returning the signed collectibles graded and encapsulated with the CGC Signature Series label. Facilitators make it especially easy for collectors to get their collectibles signed if they are not attending a comic con, and now with the updated CGC online submission form, facilitators and collectors enjoy a simplified submission process and enhanced order tracking.

Below are some questions and answers about the CGC Signature Series program:

What is an Authorized Facilitator?

An Authorized Facilitator is a dealer that has been approved by CGC to have a CGC Signature Series Witness accompany them to signing events.

What signings are approved for CGC Signature Series?

Most signings are prearranged. Any signing being hosted by CGC Signature Series or by a CGC Signature Series Authorized Facilitator (where a CGC Signature Series Witness is in attendance) is eligible. This includes comic conventions and public signings, such as those held at comic book shops.

What if I get the book signed before submitting the book to CGC?

Unfortunately, if the signing is not witnessed by someone authorized by CGC, then the signature cannot be authenticated for the Signature Series label. Certificates of Authenticity, testimonials, photographs, video recordings and any other proof of signing are not accepted. Signed collectibles in non-CGC holders are NOT eligible for a CGC Signature Series label.

Where can I get my books signed and authenticated by CGC?

CGC Signature Series offers In-House Private Signings, where creators come to CGC headquarters to sign collectibles, and CGC Witnesses at shows, who go along with the submitter and witness their books being signed.

Another option is to connect with a CGC Signature Series Authorized Facilitator who is hosting a signing event. After the signing, the Authorized Facilitator then takes care of submitting the signed collectibles to CGC for grading and encapsulation with the CGC Signature Series label.

Where can I find a CGC Authorized Facilitator to provide a witness for my signing?

The CGC Dealer Locator includes a list of CGC Signature Series Authorized Facilitators, which can be searched according to location. Go here to find one near you!
