CGC Announces Second Round of Private Signings with International Comic Book Creators

CGC is thrilled to welcome another wonderful group of international comic creators!

CGC is excited to announce that we will be hosting an exclusive In-House Private Signing event with comic book creators Alex Maleev, Simone Di Meo, Dike Ruan, Tomeu Morey, Zu Orzu and Francesco Mobili! Combined, they have worked for numerous comic book publishers including DC Comics, Marvel, Image, BOOM! Studios and Valiant among others. In addition to signing, they will be offering Remarques and Sketches for purchase. See pricing and details below. 

Alex Maleev is a comic book artist and illustrator from Bulgaria, now based in New York. He has worked with many major publishers in the comic book industry on some of the biggest character titles as both a cover artist and interior artist, including Marvel Comics (Daredevil, Avengers, Iron Man, Spider-Woman, Moon Knight and more), DC Comics (Batman, Detective Comics, Superman, Suicide Squad and more), Image Comics (Sam and Twitch), and Dark Horse Comics (Hellboy). Alex is currently working on a new book with Brian Michael Bendis as well as many covers for a variety of publishers, as well as the Alex Maleev official Marvel art book.

Simone Di Meo is a comic book artist from Turin, Italy, well known for his work as an interior artist, concept artist and cover artist. He is also a 2x Eisner nominee for We Only Find Them When They’re Dead with Al Ewing. He worked for BOOM! Studios on Power Rangers and Power Rangers/Ninja Turtles. In the same year, he also began his collaboration with Marvel Comics, working on The Immortal Hulk: The Best Defence, Venom Annual, and Champions. Soon after he also began working with DC Comics, as an artist on Harley Quinn: Future State and as cover artist on Batman, Robin, Super Sons, Poison Ivy, Gotham, Green Arrow and many more. In 2021 Simone worked on Sean Murphy's Batman universe, doing both the cover and interior art for Batman: White Knight Presents: Red Hood. He is now working on one of the biggest comic book titles, Batman and Robin for DC Comics, as the interior artist and cover artist.

Dike Ruan is a comic book artist, concept artist and illustrator, currently living in Italy, born in China. He made his debut in the US comic book industry in 2019 for Marvel Comics, working on Spider-Verse #3. He has also worked on titles such as Spider-Man, Black Cat and currently, Shang-Chi for Marvel Comics. Dike is currently working with many major publishers in the US comic book field, including DC Comics, Millarworld, BOOM! Studios, Image Comics, Vault Comics, ABLAZE Publishing and more. Dike is currently working on the interior and cover art for Millarworld's The Magic Order Volume 4.

Tomeu Morey is a colorist, illustrator, designer and comic book artist from Spain. Tomeu has worked on many major titles for DC Comics, coloring the work of some of the top industry names, such as Guillem March, Jorge Jimenez, Tony Daniels, Tyler Kirkham, Clay Mann and many more. He started working with DC Comics in 2009 on Gotham City Sirens with Guillem March. Since then he has become one of the most in demand colorists in the comic book industry, working on both covers and interior art, coloring work on DC's biggest character names, such as Batman, Detective Comics, Gotham City Sirens, Catwoman and many more.

Zu Orzu is an illustrator, comic book artist, animator, colourist and writer from Singapore. Her entry into the comic book industry was working on the highly reviewed DC Comics series Cover with Brian Michael Bendis and David Mack. Zu is currently one of the most in demand cover artists for many comic book publishers, including Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Image Comics, BOOM! Studios, Valiant Entertainment, Aftershock Comics, Whatnot Comics and many more. She recently became a continuous cover artist for Superman, Wonder Woman and Spirit World for DC Comics, and Grim and Something is Killing the Children for BOOM! Studios.

Line Art Bust Sketch - $485 (Limited to the first submitter)

Francesco Mobili is a traditional illustrator and comic book artist from Italy. He made a quick impact in the comic book industry, starting directly with work for Marvel Comics on several titles including Old Man Hawkeye, Absolute Carnage, Venom 2099, Amazing Spider-Man: Daily Bugle, Morbius, Daredevil and Avengers: Curse of the Man-Thing. Francesco has also collaborated with renowned writer Rick Remender on series The Scumbag for Image Comics. He is currently working as the interior artist on big Marvel titles such as X-Men and Avengers, as well as working on many covers for a variety of publishers.

Inked Bust Sketch - $435 (Limited to the first submitter)

*Submitters may request the desired Remarque. Important: The final design and subject matter of the Remarque is at the artist’s discretion. CGC cannot guarantee Remarque requests.

For this exclusive event, ALL CGC members, including free CGC members, can submit books directly to CGC headquarters in Sarasota, Florida. CGC must receive all submissions for this event by Friday, September 22, 2023. 

If the In-House Private Signing needs to be rescheduled, CGC will securely store all submissions in its vault until the event can be rescheduled. 

After the creator(s) signs the submitted books, CGC will grade and encapsulate them with an estimated turnaround time of six weeks. If CGC pressing is also requested, the turnaround time is estimated at eight weeks. After grading and encapsulation, the collectibles will be shipped back to their owners.

Submission Instructions 

For this CGC Private Signing event, you can ship submissions directly to CGC with a FREE membership. Paid memberships are also available and include additional benefits. For more information and to join, visit CGCcomics.com/join

To submit books for the signing: 

  • Log onto your account or sign up for an account HERE.
  • Click Submit in the CGC website navigation and select Submission Forms
  • Next to Comics / Magazines, select Online Form.
  • Select Comic or Magazine from the drop-down menu, then select the artist.
  • Under Services, select Grading and, if you would like it, Pressing. Then hit Next in the top right section of the form.
  • Enter the information requested for your comic, and make sure to check the box next to the artist under Private Signing Details.
  • On the next screen, you can add one of CGC’s custom Marvel labels to your submission for qualifying books.
  • Select Add to Cart, and then repeat if there are additional books in your submission. If there are no additional books in your submission, click on the cart icon and proceed to checkout.
  • Note: If you want to submit magazines, please group them together on their own private signing form separate from comic submissions. The same rule applies for any custom labels.   • Put ALL ungraded books in window bags or they will not be accepted. You can purchase window bags HERE.
  • Books that are already certified by CGC, including CGC Signature Series books, can be submitted for this event. CGC will remove a CGC-certified book from its holder for an additional $5 fee.
  • Carefully package books in a box for shipment. If you need a CGC shipping kit, they can be purchased HERE.
  • IMPORTANT: Please write the artists’ initials on all sides of the outside of the box. You must initial outside of the box or we will not be able to honor the submission for this signing. 
  • Books will be received into the CGC system when they arrive and will be safely stored by CGC until the event. (Please note: Payments are processed as they normally are at the time of the collectibles’ arrival at CGC.)
  • Once books are signed, they will start an expedited CGC grading process. 

PLEASE NOTE:

All submissions must be received by CGC no later than Friday, September 22, 2023, to qualify for this private signing event. No change requests will be accepted after Friday, September 22, 2023.

*No Multi-Sigs included with other signings.

**If you submit a CGC-graded collectible that needs to be removed from its original holder by CGC, the collectible will need to go through the certification and encapsulation process again, and there is no guarantee that it will receive the same grade.

***Marker color requests are welcome, but not guaranteed. Marker color choice and signature placement is at the final discretion of the signer.
