Created by psychologist and writer William Moulton Marston and artist Harry G. Peter, Wonder Woman made her debut in All Star Comics #8 in 1941. In the comics, Wonder Woman is endowed with superhuman strength, speed and agility. She is equipped with indestructible bracelets, the Lasso of Truth and a tiara that serves as a projectile weapon. In the 1940s, audiences were drawn to Wonder Woman comics for her bold adventures, which often explored themes of justice, equality and the power of women. Her popularity during the 1940s paved the way for decades of continued success, solidifying her status as a cultural icon and feminist icon.

Throughout the decades, the character has undergone numerous reinterpretations and adaptations across various media, including television, film and animation. Gal Gadot's portrayal of Wonder Woman in the DC Extended Universe films garnered widespread acclaim, showcasing her as a powerful and compassionate warrior who fights for peace and justice in a world plagued by conflict and inequality.

Some of the gorgeous Golden Age comics in this collection include:

  • Wonder Woman #1 graded CGC 5.0 – the origin of Wonder Woman
  • Wonder Woman #16 graded CGC 5.5 – the first appearance of Hades
  • Wonder Woman #37 graded CGC 5.0 – the first appearance of Circe
  • Wonder Woman #49 graded CGC 6.5 – a controversial issue mentioned in Dr. Fredric Wertham’s book “Seduction of the Innocent”
  • Wonder Woman #80 graded CGC 6.5 – the origin of the invisible plane

The collection received the Best in Set Type award in 2007 and the Achievement in Collecting Comics award in 2010.
