CGC Launches Modern Bulk Grading Tier with New PreScreen Option for Comics and Magazines

Starting June 3, 2025, Certified Guaranty Company® (CGC®) is introducing a Modern Bulk grading tier with a new Modern Bulk PreScreen option for comics and magazines. Designed for collectors and dealers submitting larger volumes of Modern-era books, these new services offer a simpler and more cost-effective way to get your collectibles certified by the industry’s largest and most respected comic book and magazine grading service.

Whether you're a longtime collector with boxes of books or a dealer preparing for con season, the new Modern Bulk tiers provide maximum flexibility, value and efficiency. With Modern Bulk PreScreen, you can request that CGC only encapsulate comic books or magazines that reach your specified minimum grade. For example, if you select PreScreen and specify a minimum grade of 9.8, CGC will only encapsulate those collectibles that grade at least 9.8. The rest will be returned raw and only a $5 reject fee will apply, potentially saving you hundreds of dollars or more per submission!

Please note: PreScreen services will not be available in the United Kingdom or the United Arab Emirates.
