CGC Announces In-House Private Signing with Jim Starlin and Steve Englehart
Posted on 6/25/2025
CGC Signature Series is thrilled to announce an exclusive In-House Private Signing with the incredible Jim Starlin and Steve Englehart! Both Starlin and Englehart are multi-award-winning legends in the industry with work spanning decades.
Starlin is best known for space opera stories, revamping the Marvel Comics characters Captain Marvel and Adam Warlock; and for creating the Marvel characters Thanos, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora and Shang-Chi. Starlin later teamed with DC Comics and drew many of their iconic characters, including Darkseid. He also created his own character, Dreadstar, for Epic Comics.
In the late 1980s, Starlin became the writer of Batman, and wrote one of the biggest storylines, “A Death in the Family” in issues #426 to #429, which notably featured the death of Robin. Other projects for DC included writing The Weird and Cosmic Odyssey.
Steve Englehart has had a celebrated career in comics thanks to his time at Marvel, where he wrote 32 issues of Captain America and 40 issues of Avengers. Credited with reshaping the Marvel Universe with his captivating characters, Englehart has been named Favorite Writer at the Eagle Awards and has received an Inkpot Award for his acclaimed work.
Englehart began his career in comics as an artistic assistant to Neal Adams while working on the horror comics magazine Vampirella. Since then, Englehart has written for some of the most popular comic series for DC and Marvel, including Green Lantern Corps, The Avengers, The Fantastic Four, Doctor Strange, The Hulk and Batman. He co-created Ultraverse comics and wrote the highly anticipated series Night Man, which was later adapted into a television series. In addition, he has written and published novels including The Point Man, The Long Man and The Plain Man.
