Headlining the auction is, fittingly, a Headline Comics #19 graded CGC 7.0, published by Prize Publications in 1946, marking the title’s turning point from wartime adventure to gritty true-crime storytelling. Early issues followed heroic soldiers and spies, but later the series began exploring the darker realities of post-war America, shifting its narrative to gangsters, corruption and moral consequence.

Also featured in this auction is a Bill Barnes America’s Air Ace Comics #9 graded CGC 6.0, published by Street & Smith Publications in 1943, capturing the patriotic optimism of the World War II era. Adapted from the popular pulp magazines, the series celebrated courage, offering readers a fearless hero who embodied American resilience in the skies.
