Heritage Offers Many Key Comics Certified by CGC

Among the comics leading the bidding is an Incredible Hulk #1 graded CGC 4.0 (lot 83097). Published in 1962 by Marvel Comics, this comic introduced readers to the iconic character of the Hulk and marked the birth of a legendary superhero franchise. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, this debut issue chronicled the origin of Dr. Bruce Banner, who, after a gamma radiation accident, transforms into the uncontrollable green behemoth whenever he experiences intense anger. In his first appearance, however, the Hulk was depicted as gray, but this color choice led to printing issues, and the character was changed to green in the second issue.

Also available is a Wonder Woman #1 graded CGC 4.0 (lot 83165). This comic, published in 1942 by DC Comics, expands the origin of Wonder Woman and marked the first solo title for the Amazonian heroine and solidified her place among the Golden Age icons. The issue also introduces core elements of her mythology. While this issue is not the actual first appearance of Wonder Woman, you can find an example of that comic, an All Star Comics #8 graded CGC 3.0 Restored (lot 83010), elsewhere in this auction.
