A powerhouse lineup of legendary comic book creators whose work spans iconic characters, defining runs and multiple eras of the medium, is teaming up with CGC Signature Series for an exclusive signing event.

CGC Signature Series is thrilled to announce that we will be hosting an exclusive Private Signing event with a virtual convention’s line-up of amazing comic book superstars — Chuck Dixon, Graham Nolan, Michael Golden, Renee Witterstaetter, Arthur Suydam and Mike DeCarlo!

Chuck Dixon  is an Inkpot Award-winning comic book writer who is best known for his work on Punisher for Marvel and Batman/Detective comics for DC Comics, including co-creating the infamous character Bane for DC in the 1990s. He has worked for a handful of other publishers throughout his career as well, such as Dark Horse, IDW Publishing and Bongo Comics. At Marvel, Dixon began as a back-up writer for their Savage Sword of Conan series, working for other publishers on the side. In 1989, he started writing the series Marc Spector: Moon Knight and then The Punisher: Kingdom Come, which led to work on other Punisher titles like The Punisher War Journal. He caught the attention of DC and was hired to write their new Robin series, which ultimately led to Dixon writing Batman for the majority of the 1990s. After DC, he went on to write series for other publishers such as Simpsons Comics, Transformers: Evolutions and G.I. Joe.

Graham Nolan is an Inkpot Award-winning comic book illustrator who is best known for his work on Batman/Detective Comics alongside Chuck Dixon for DC Comics in the 1990s. He helped co-create the character Bane and played an instrumental role in illustrating the iconic Knightfall series. During his time with DC, Nolan illustrated series such as Bane: Conquest, Batman: Bane of the Demon, Batman: Vengeance of Bane and Batman: Vengeance of Bane II: The Redemption. Nolan created and published his own book called Monster Island, then went on to work on The Sunday Phantom newspaper strips as well as working for other publishers, IDW Publishing and Ominous Press. He created a webcomic in 2009 called Sunshine State, which can be viewed at www.sunshinestatecomics.com.

Michael Golden is best known for co-creating the iconic characters Rogue for Marvel Comics and Bucky O’Hare for Continuity Comics. He got his start with DC Comics working on titles like Mister Miracle and Batman Family. He then went to work for Marvel on series like Doctor Strange, Uncanny X-Men, Howard the Duck and many more. In the 1990s, he worked as an Editor for DC and then as a Senior Art Director for Marvel.

Renee Witterstaetter began her comic career working on Superman at DC Comics and then at Marvel where she worked on titles like Silver Surfer, Thanos Quest, Guardians of the Galaxy, Conan the Barbarian and the Conan Saga. She is also highly credited for her work as editor on the reintroduction of Marvel Comics’ series The Sensational She-Hulk. Later, Witterstaetter went on to work for Topps Comics where she was the editor on X-Files, Jurassic Park, Xena and Hercules, and was the co-creator — with artist Michael Golden — on the series Spartan X. Witterstaetter has also worked alongside comic book artist Arthur Suydam on the series The Art of the Barbarian. In addition, she was a colorist on many comics, including the Avengers, Spider-Man and Captain America.

Arthur Suydam is best known for his work on the Marvel Zombies and Deadpool: Merc With a Mouth series, where he illustrated many covers that paid homage to famous covers from Marvel history. While at Marvel he also worked on covers for characters like Ghost Rider, Moon Knight and Wolverine. In the 1990s, he worked as an editor for Penthouse Comix where he was part of its inaugural issue. Suydam went on to work on Red Sonja for Dynamite Publishing and recently on Batman: Deceased for DC Comics.

Mike DeCarlo began his career in the comic industry working for DC Comics. He is most known for his inking work on Tales of the Teen Titans, Batman: A Death in the Family and Legion of Super-Heroes. During his time at Marvel, he worked on classic series such as Conan the Barbarian, Fantastic Four and The Mighty Thor. For Bongo Comics, he inked many issues of Simpsons Comics. DeCarlo also had a stint working as an animator for Warner Bros., on series like Looney Tunes, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain and Superman & Bugs Bunny.

The CGC Comics Private Signing fee for Chuck Dixon and Graham Nolan is $115 per item and includes:

  • Chuck Dixon’s signature
  • Graham Nolan’s signature
  • Estimated turnaround time of six weeks for CGC grading
  • Estimated turnaround time of eight weeks for CGC grading and CGC pressing (an additional fee applies for CGC pressing)
  • Encapsulation with the iconic yellow CGC Signature Series label

For this exclusive event, ALL CGC members, including free CGC members, can submit books directly to CGC headquarters in Sarasota, Florida. CGC must receive all submissions for this event by March 11, 2026.

If the CGC Private Signing needs to be rescheduled, CGC will securely store all submissions in its vault until the event can be rescheduled.

After the submitted books are signed, CGC will grade and encapsulate them with an estimated turnaround time of six weeks. If CGC pressing is also requested, the turnaround time is estimated at eight weeks. After grading and encapsulation, the collectibles will be shipped back to their owners.

Submission Instructions

For this CGC Private Signing event, you can ship submissions directly to CGC with a FREE membership. Paid memberships are also available and include additional benefits. For more information and to join, visit CGCcomics.com/join.

To submit books for the signing:

  • Log onto your account or sign up for an account HERE.
  • Click Submit in the CGC website navigation and select Submission Forms.
  • Next to Comics / Magazines / Pulps, select Online Form.
  • Click Start New Order.
  • Select Comic or Magazine, then select CGC Signature Series, then select In-House Private Signing and one of the following from the dropdown menu section:

  • Enter the information requested for your comic, and make sure to check the box next to DeCarlo/Dixon/Golden/Nolan/Suydam/Witterstaetter under Private Signing Details.
  • If a qualifying custom label is available, you will have the option to click the Custom Label box and make a selection to add one of CGC’s custom labels to your submission for qualifying books.
  • Select Add Comic, and then repeat if there are additional books in your submission. If there are no additional books in your submission, click on Review Cart and proceed to checkout.
  • Note: If you want to submit magazines, please group them together on their own private signing form separate from comic submissions. The same rule applies for any custom labels.   • Put ALL ungraded books in window bags or they will not be accepted.
  • Books that are already certified by CGC, including CGC Signature Series books, can be submitted for this event. CGC will remove a CGC-certified book from its holder for an additional $5 fee.
  • Carefully package books in a box for shipment.
  • IMPORTANT: Please write either GN, CD, RW, MG, AS, MD, RW/MG or CD/GN on all sides of the outside of the box. You must initial the outside of the box or we will not be able to honor the submission for this signing.
  • Books will be received into the CGC system when they arrive and will be safely stored by CGC until the event. (Please note: Payments are processed as they normally are at the time of the collectibles’ arrival at CGC.)
  • Once books are signed, they will start an expedited CGC grading process.

PLEASE NOTE:

All submissions must be received by CGC no later than March 11, 2026, to qualify for this private signing event. No change requests will be accepted after March 11, 2026. Membership credits cannot be applied to CGC Private Signings. Cannot be combined with other CGC Private Signing events. If you submit a CGC-graded collectible that needs to be removed from its original holder by CGC, the collectible will need to go through the certification and encapsulation process again, and there is no guarantee that it will receive the same grade. Paid membership discounts do not apply to In-House Private Signings. Marker color requests are welcome but not guaranteed. Marker color choice and signature placement are at the final discretion of the signer.
