CGC and Pixelmon Bring Golden Age Rarities Back with Kickstarter Campaign
Posted on 3/24/2026
CGC® is teaming up with Pixelmon Media to deliver Golden Age rarities, professionally graded, at the moment they’re reintroduced to the world. Through the Golden Age Good Girl Comic Book Facsimile Collection Kickstarter, backers can secure CGC-graded copies with a guaranteed grade of 9.8 or higher, complete with Fast Track service, turning a historic publishing event into a true collecting opportunity from day one.
The books in this promotion are carefully produced facsimiles of some of the most elusive and culturally significant comics of the 1940s and early 1950s. These “Good Girl” comics were a defining, and sometimes controversial, movement from the Golden Age. Known for its bold, stylized depictions of women across crime, jungle adventure, romance and science fiction titles, this era produced some of the most recognizable imagery in comic history.
Artists like Matt Baker and L.B. Cole helped set the tone, bringing a sense of motion, elegance, and personality that stood apart from traditional superhero storytelling.
Supporters of this campaign can choose between multiple tier options, starting with the Top 10 books for $149. Other options are available for crime, horror, romance, Black Cat Comics, Planet Comics, All-Time Classics, Phantom Lady, Jungle Girl and Bob Lubbers. Some of the iconic books reissued in this exclusive set are Phantom Lady #17, Startling Comics #49, Seven Seas Comics #4, All-Top Comics #16, Jo-Jo Comics #25, Tomb of Terror #15 and many, many more!
Surviving copies are scarce and often prohibitively expensive. A Phantom Lady #17 graded CGC 9.6 was sold for $456,000 in 2021. Now offered with CGC’s grading expertise, these reprinted books can reach collectors as high-grade, encapsulated pieces ready for long-term preservation and display.
Once this campaign ends, these facsimile editions will not be reprinted. For collectors who recognize the significance of these books, this is the window to act fast!
With CGC’s involvement, that window comes with a guaranteed 9.8 or higher grade, while Fast Track ensures these books move quickly from production to encapsulation. For longtime collectors, it’s a chance to own a piece of Golden Age history in a format that respects both the past and the present. For newer fans, it’s an entry point into a part of comics that’s often talked about but rarely experienced firsthand.
Either way, when this campaign closes, the opportunity goes with it.
