CGC Announces Private Signing with Bill Morrison

CGC Signature Series is pleased to announce an exclusive Private Signing event with award-winning cartoonist Bill Morrison! Collectors can submit both comics and cards to this event.

Bill Morrison spent several years working on various projects related to the smash-hit animated series, The Simpsons, and was Creative Director at Bongo Comics. Early in his career, Morrison worked in motion picture advertising, where he created promotional art for many Walt Disney Pictures films, including The Little Mermaid, Bambi, Peter Pan, Cinderella, and The Jungle Book. He then began working on the iconic property The Simpsons, where he created thousands of drawings for T-shirts, video games, posters, toy packaging, books, calendars, limited edition prints, etc. When The Simpsons creator Matt Groening founded Bongo Comics, Morrison was hired as art director and realized his cartoonist dreams when he drew the very first Simpsons comic. He quickly took on the role of Creative Director, editing Bongo’s entire output, and writing and drawing stories and covers as time permitted.

Morrison also worked with Groening on early character designs for the TV show Futurama and served as the series art director. He also served as Artist and Designer on Groening’s Netflix series, Disenchantment. In addition to his work on The Simpsons and Futurama comics, Morrison has written and drawn his own comic book series, the four-time Eisner Award-nominated Roswell, Little Green Man, and co-created three other comic book series (Heroes Anonymous, Dead Vengeance, and Lady Robotika). Morrison also created a 96-page graphic novel adaptation of The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine for Titan Comics.

Most recently, Bill was the Executive Editor of the relaunched MAD Magazine, and also served as Art Director for Seriously’s Best Fiends animated shorts.

CGC must receive all submissions for this event by August 14, 2026. The deadline for international submissions is two weeks earlier than the US deadline to allow time for delivery. If the Private Signing needs to be rescheduled, CGC will securely store all submissions in its vault until the event can be held.

After the submitted comics and cards are signed, CGC will grade and encapsulate them with an estimated turnaround time of six weeks. If CGC pressing for comics is also requested, the turnaround time is estimated at eight weeks. After grading and encapsulation, the collectibles will be shipped back to their owners.

Pricing for Comic Submissions

The CGC Private Signing fee for Bill Morrison is $85 per item and includes:

• Bill Morrison’s signature
• Estimated turnaround time of six weeks for CGC grading
• Estimated turnaround time of eight weeks for CGC grading and CGC pressing (an additional fee applies for CGC pressing)
• Encapsulation with the iconic yellow CGC Signature Series label

The CGC Private Signing fee for a Bill Morrison remarque is $170 per item and includes:

• Bill Morrison’s remarque. Important: The submitter may request the desired remarque. The final subject matter is at the artist’s discretion. CGC cannot guarantee requests.
• Bill Morrison’s signature
• Estimated turnaround time of six weeks for CGC grading
• Estimated turnaround time of eight weeks for CGC grading and CGC pressing (an additional fee applies for CGC pressing)
• Encapsulation with the iconic yellow CGC Signature Series label

Submission Instructions

For this CGC Private Signing event, you can ship submissions directly to CGC with a FREE membership. Paid memberships are also available and include additional benefits. For more information and to join, visit CGCcomics.com/join.

To submit books for the signing:

• Log onto your account or sign up for an account HERE.
• Click Submit in the CGC website navigation and select Submission Forms.
• Next to Comics / Magazines / Pulps, select Online Form.
• Click Start New Order.
• Select Comic or Magazine, then select CGC Signature Series, then select In-House Private Signing and one of the following from the dropdown menu section:
  Bill Morrison, Signature or Bill Morrison, Remarque. Under Primary Services, select Authentication & Grading and, if you would like it, Pressing. Then click Add Comic.
• Enter the information requested for your comic, and make sure to check the box next to Bill Morrison under Private Signing Details.
• If a qualifying custom label is available, you will have the option to click the Custom Label box and make a selection to add one of CGC’s custom labels to your submission for qualifying books.
• Select Add Comic, and then repeat if there are additional books in your submission. If there are no additional books in your submission, click on Review Cart and proceed to checkout.
• Note: If you want to submit magazines, please group them together on their own private signing form separate from comic submissions. The same rule applies for any custom labels. • Put ALL ungraded books in window bags or they will not be accepted.
• Books that are already certified by CGC, including CGC Signature Series books, can be submitted for this event. CGC will remove a CGC-certified book from its holder for an additional $5 fee.
• Carefully package books in a box for shipment.
• IMPORTANT: Please write BM on all sides of the outside of the box. You must write this on the outside of the box or we will not be able to honor the submission for this signing.
• Books will be received into the CGC system when they arrive and will be safely stored by CGC until the event. (Please note: Payments are processed as they normally are at the time of the collectibles’ arrival at CGC.)
• Once books are signed, they will start an expedited CGC grading process.
