Posted on 8/24/2026

Writer and Editor Danny Fingeroth, known for his iconic contributions to Spider-Man, is joining CGC Signature Series for an exclusive comics and cards Private Signing event.

CGC Signature Series is pleased to announce an exclusive Private Signing event with Danny Fingeroth! Collectors can submit both comics and cards to this event.

Danny Fingeroth was the longtime Group Editor of Marvel’s Spider-Man line and has written many comics, including the Deadly Foes of Spider-Man limited series, the Lethal Foes of Spider-Man limited series, the entire 50-issue run of Darkhawk, most of the original run of Dazzler, and Avengers: Death Trap, the Vault graphic novel (later repackaged as Venom: Deathtrap: The Vault).

Fingeroth edited Spider-Man comics by creators including Roger Stern, Tom DeFalco, John Romita Jr., Ron Frenz, David Michelinie, Mark Bagley, Al Milgrom, Josef Rubinstein, Stan Lee, and many more. His editing work includes Spider-Man titles in the ‘80s and ‘90s, including numerous Venom limited series (starting with Venom: Lethal Protector), the Maximum Carnage storyline, the Clone Saga, Amazing Spider-Man #252, and the Spider-Man 30th anniversary issues with hologram covers.

Fingeroth is the author of the definitive Stan Lee biography, “A Marvelous Life: The Amazing Story of Stan Lee,” which was published in 2019 by St. Martin’s Press/Macmillan. His most recent book is “Jack Ruby: The Many Faces of Oswald’s Assassin,” a look into the mind of the strange, violent man who changed history when, on November 24, 1963, he murdered Lee Harvey Oswald — presumed assassin of President John F. Kennedy — on live TV.

Among Fingeroth’s other books are “Superman on the Couch: What Superheroes Really Tell Us About Ourselves and Our Society” and “Disguised as Clark Kent: Jews, Comics, and the Creation of the Superhero.”

Fingeroth is the recipient of the Inkpot Lifetime Achievement Award from Comic-Con International San Diego (aka San Diego Comic-Con) and serves as Chair of Will Eisner Week, an annual series of more than 100 events worldwide celebrating the legacy of the pioneering graphic novelist. He has served as a judge for the Eisner Awards.
