CGC Scores with Sports Illustrated Officially Licensed Labels

Add a sports icon to your next submission! CGC is thrilled to debut officially licensed custom certification labels featuring one of the most iconic brands in sports: Sports Illustrated. When submitting any sports collectible — Sports Illustrated magazines, SI Kids sports cards, and more — make sure to add a slam-dunk look with the new CGC Sports Illustrated custom labels!

Sports Illustrated has been a cornerstone of American sports journalism since its debut in 1954, blending in-depth reporting with striking photography to capture the drama, personalities, and culture of athletics. The pioneering magazine quickly became a definitive source for sports fans, chronicling iconic moments across decades, from historic championships to groundbreaking athlete profiles. Being featured on a Sports Illustrated cover is a coveted milestone, marking an athlete as part of the elite "who’s who" of sports and entertainment. Sports Illustrated's covers and features shape conversations about athletes, fashion, and sports culture across generations.

Sports Illustrated was one of the first magazines for which CGC offered certification, grading, and encapsulation when it launched the service in 2009. The encapsulation process employed by CGC ensures that magazines are secure and protected while providing optimal viewing through the crystal-clear holder.

The CGC holder for cards is just as crystal-clear, and the new CGC Sports Illustrated Kids label will pair perfectly with SI Kids cards, which have become increasingly popular among collectors with heightened 90s nostalgia in recent years. For flawless SI Kids cards, the CGC Pristine 10 version of the label represents the ultimate chase.

The labels will be available for CGC grading, CGC Signature Series, and CGC x JSA Authentic Autograph, in both Sports Illustrated and Sports Illustrated Kids variations for magazines, and Sports Illustrated Kids for cards. Each of these custom labels are available to add on to submissions for an additional $8 per collectible. For submissions to CGC, simply start a new submission for comics or cards, select your grading tier, search for your sports-themed collectible, and then click the custom label box and choose your label. (Please note: The CGC Signature Series and CGC x JSA label options for cards will be available through CGC's online Official Submission Form starting August 5.)
