Co-created by comic book legends Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the Fantastic Four quickly became a fan-favorite and cemented the foundation for five consecutive decades of success for Marvel Comics.

“Second only to Spider-Man’s first appearance, Fantastic Four #1 is the most important Marvel Silver Age comic,” said Metropolis Collectibles Chief Operating Officer Vincent Zurzolo. “I’m thrilled to announce the sale of a copy that was CGC-certified 9.4 for $300,000.”

The comic book is the second highest certified by CGC with only one higher.

“Sweet Aunt Petunia!” exclaimed Rob Reynolds, Director of Consignments. “White pages on a Fantastic Four #1?!? Wow!”

The $300,000 sale price is the highest amount ever paid for a Fantastic Four #1 CGC 9.4.

“My clients are actively pursuing copies of Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 9.4, Journey into Mystery #83 CGC 9.4, Iron Man & Sub-Mariner #1 CGC 9.8, and The Flash #105 CGC 9.0 or higher,” said Frank Cwiklik, Lead Sales Executive. “E-mail or call me today because I have guys that are ready to buy.”
