Variants: There is a direct edition and a newsstand edition that both have a cover price of 75 cents, and a Canadian edition with a 95-cent cover price. All three editions have the same cover by artist José Luis García-López.

What makes it special? In this story, titled, “Twas the Fright Before Christmas,” the evil Toyman has set a trap for Superman on Christmas Eve, only to have his plan spoiled by Santa Claus himself. To show his thanks, the Man of Steel helps Santa deliver his presents to all the children of Metropolis.

Why is it interesting now? ’Tis the season, right?

Did you know? Santa Claus first appeared in DC Comics in the 1940 comic book “Superman’s Christmas Adventure.”
