Name of comic: Omega Men #3

Name of comic: Omega Men #3

Comic publisher: DC Comics

Date: June 1983

Variants: None

What makes it special? This issue includes the first appearance of Lobo, the last Czarnian (he killed everyone on his planet) by creators Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen. Originally a villain, Lobo has occasionally played the role of a violent anti-hero.

Why is it interesting now? It’s not a new trend that collectors have been chasing after this book — the comic was previously featured here all the way back in March 2023 when rumors of a movie began. But now it’s finally confirmed: Lobo is coming to the big screen! The Last Czarnian will appear in the 2026 film, “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow,” and he will be played by fish-out-of-water Jason Momoa!

Did you know? Lobo first met, and fought, Superman in Adventures of Superman #464, and the Main Man has had an ongoing beef with the Last Son ever since.
