The Early Releases and First Releases designations are used by CGC in select cases to capture the excitement of a newly issued collectible.
If a collectible is eligible for these designations, it will be listed in the chart below. Currently, Early Releases and First Releases are offered only for “foils,” precious metal replicas of certain comic books and movie posters.
To qualify for Early Releases or First Releases, the collectibles must generally be received by CGC within the first 30 days of the first release of that collectible. The cutoff dates for Early Releases or First Releases are listed in the chart below.
Early Releases is the default designation for eligible collectibles received before the cutoff date. If you would prefer the First Releases designation or no designation, please indicate that request on the CGC Submission Form.
