Name: Comic Cavalcade #18

Comic publisher: DC Comics

Date: December 1946

Variants: None

What makes it special? Like many Golden Age comics, Comic Cavalcade #18 is considered a modern collector's item. The covers of Comic Cavalcade typically featured a mix of DC's most popular characters, and the interior stories often showcase individual adventures of these characters. The stories usually involve the heroes fighting against supervillains, thwarting criminal plots and showcasing their unique superpowers.

Why is it interesting now? In celebration of Thanksgiving, this cover finds classic DC heroes Wonder Woman, the Flash and Green Lantern chasing a turkey.

Did you know? With its cover featuring members of the Justice Society in one of their earliest adventures, this comic was released only six years after the formation of the team in All-Star Comics #3. This comic also includes a story by Flash creator Gardner Fox.

Total graded by CGC: As of October 24, 2023, there were only 29 examples of Comic Cavalcade #18 in the CGC Census.

CGC highest graded: There are two examples graded CGC 9.4.

Sales highlights: A CGC 9.4 example with a Promise Collection pedigree was sold through Heritage Auctions for $3,480 in 2022.

CGC Comics Registry Champion: CGC Comics Registry user Airboy’s set No name Cavalcades includes a CGC 6.0 example of Comic Cavalcade #18, helping to earn it the Best in Set Type Award from 2018 to 2023.
